“Kita itu kan pendiri dua-duanya. Karena itu kita berkepentingan bahwa di satu sisi kita ikut berperan di dalam membentuk bagaimana ASEAN dan APEC itu, tapi pada saat yang sama juga bahwa perkembangannya harus memberikan kontribusi buat kita secara nasional,” tutur Wakil Menteri Luar Negeri (Wamenlu) A.M. Fachir yang turun mendampingi Presiden Jokowi dalam pertemuan yang digagas oleh Vietnam tersebut.
Secara khusus Presiden Jokowi menyampaikan bahwa sinergi tersebut harus ditampilkan dalam sejumlah kerja sama di berbagai bidang, seperti di bidang e-commerce, pengembangan kapasitas SDM, serta sinergi antara RCAP (Regional Cooperation in Asia Pacific) dengan FTAAP (Free Trade Area of Asia Pacific).
“Perlu semakin mengandalkan pasar domestik intra kawasan, jadi tidak selalu bergantung pada kawasan lain,” ujar A.M. Fachir mengutip pernyataan Presiden Jokowi.
Sinergitas yang disampaikan Presiden Jokowi tersebut, ucap Fachir, mendapat apresiasi dan pandangan positif dari sejumlah pemimpin negara, salah satunya Australia.
“(Australia) melihat RCAP ini cukup sangat potensial sekali untuk segera bisa digulirkan. Kalau free trade area untuk Asia Pasifik masih jauh,” kata A.M. Fachir.
Sementara itu pada ABAC Dialogue, Presiden Jokowi menekankan pentingnya pembangunan ekonomi yang terbuka dan inklusif guna mengatasi masalah ketimpangan (gap) yang terjadi di sejumlah negara.
