“Tim gabungan berhasil menggagalkan 240 ekor burung ilegal tersebut saat melakukan pengawasan rutin di Pelabuhan Bakauheni. Jenis burung yang ditahan, di antaranya Perkutut, Manyar, Pentek, dan Kutilang Batu yang diangkut menggunakan travel dari Lampung Tengah yang akan menuju Jakarta,” ujar Karman, Kasi Pengawasan dan Penindakan Karantina Pertanian Lampung.
Karman mengatakan, berdasarkan hasil investigasi bahwa burung tersebut tidak dilengkapi dengan dokumen yang dipersyaratkan serta tidak dilaporkan ke Pejabat Karantina.
Burung yang dikemas dalam keranjang tersebut kemudian diamankan oleh petugas dan ditempatkan pada kandang yang layak untuk mengurangi stres saat perjalanan.
“Segera akan kami lakukan pengujian rapid tes terhadap penyakit avian influenza. Selanjutnya akan diserahterimakan ke BKSDA Lampung untuk proses pelepasliaran,” tegas Karman. (Rls)
