Dalam kesempatan jumpa pers, Cok Ace berharap melalui terobosan pameran lukisan ini bisa memperkaya khazanah seni Bali sekaligus mempromosikan Bali hingga ke mancanegara.
“Selama ini kita mengetahui pakem lukisan Bali seperti apa. Objeknya jika tidak pemandangan, benda maupun abstrak. Sekarang kita disuguhi karya-karya berupa mobil Mercedes-Benz sebagai objek, ini merupakan lompatan baru,” katanya.
Dia mengatakan masyarakat Eropa, terutama Jerman, akan senang melihat mobil kebanggaan mereka begitu digandrungi di Bali, bahkan hingga menjadi objek karya seni yang membanggakan.
Lebih jauh, tokoh Puri Ubud ini mengatakan Bali sebagai salah satu pusat kebudayaan dunia harus bisa terus mengimprovisasi seninya, memperbanyak karya, bahkan yang semakin memperkaya khazanah seni kita.
“Bali harus selalu menjadi inspirasi bagi para seniman, tidak hanya di rumah sendiri, bahkan hingga ke luar. Jika kesenian di sini terus berkembang seiring dengan perkembangan zaman,” imbuhnya.
Tak lupa dalam kesempatan tersebut, Cok Ace juga mengucapkan terima kasih kepada para seniman muda serta mengucapkan selamat ulang tahun kepada perkumpulan mobil klasik. Dia mengatakan meskipun di tengah pandemi Covid-19, para anggota juga bisa terus mengikat tali silaturahim dengan tetap mengikuti protokol kesehatan.
“Kita juga harus tetap menunjukkan bahwa kita di sini bisa terus beraktivitas, tentu saja dengan protokol kesehatan yang tegas. Dengan kegiatan ini bisa menambah imun kita,” tandasnya.
Sebelumnya ketua panitia, Endra Datta, mengatakan pameran tersebut sebagai ajang menjadikan seni dan budaya sebagai bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari Mercedes-Benz Classic Bali. Kegiatan ini juga, menurut dia, sebagai upaya dukungan terhadap pemerintah di bidang pariwisata.
“Kita ingin membangun kepercayaan publik, terutama publik internasional, baik di tengah pandemi maupun saat pemulihan pasca pandemi,” bebernya.
Dia mengatakan pameran kali ini dimeriahkan oleh 10 pelukis muda yang masing-masing memiliki pengalaman maupun jalan kesenian yang cukup beragam. Dalam pameran yang bertajuk ‘The Art of Mercedes-Benz Classic’ serta menampilkan sekitar 27 karya dari sepuluh seniman tersebut, Endra Datta mengaku ingin mengintimkan antara keindahan bentuk serie Mercedes-Benz klasik dan alam maupun kultur Bali.
